Out Mending Fences

The post and board fence that serves as our primary boundary, along Red Hill Road, is over eighty years old. Recently it has come in for a lot of damage due to inattentive motorists speeding off the parkway. This Summer, it got so bad I decided it was failing in its primary purpose of being a barrier, both to people getting into the property and to dogs getting out, and so have been fixing it, bit by bit. This is quite hard work because the iron laden soil, which gives Red Hill its name, appears to be starting its journey into bog iron when you get over two feet down.
