My son and I have started an experiment to see if we can grow tea, Camellia Senensis, in New Jersey. This is a crop which, if you are producing leaf-tea, has a yield that we’ve read is quite high per acre.

This morning some trees went out to a customer.

An 80 year old maple tree dropped a branch near the house.

A young buck that had got some netting tangled in its antlers wandered onto the property. My husband was able to free it using a lopper and some bolt cutters. Once free, we were able to retrieve the netting.

I love eating the freshly toasted pumpkin seeds taken from our own Jersey Fresh pumpkin grown in the field right outside our house.

For some reason, the deer will never eat the weeds (which are plentiful), just the flowers we like to look at.

One of my favorite things is our beautiful, organically grown, New Jersey produce. The bright colors and flavors are simply delicious.

My children love to walk out into the fields and watch the wildlife that gathers on the farm. A few years ago we put up a camera, and captured this fellow doing his daily rounds on the property.

The original post and board fence is over 80 years old. It needs some patching.
